Inducing labour

Make a note of when you take your pills

Take one 25-microgram pill of misoprostol (Angusta) every two hours.
Every time you take a pill, note the exact time on the form.

Possible side effects

Some of the most common side effects of Angusta are:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Fever.

There is a small risk that the medicine will be too strong and result in too many contractions. There is a very slight risk that the contractions will be so strong that the uterus will rupture. This happens to less than 1 out of 10,000 cases.
