Ultrasound
About the examination
You are scheduled for an ultrasound. Ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of the inside of the body. The sound waves are sent and received through an ultrasound probe, which is passed over the skin.
The scan takes approximately 30 minutes, but it is a good idea to set aside 1 hour for your stay, as waiting time may occur.
The examination
Depending on the area being examined, you may be asked to lie down, sit or stand. We apply a layer of gel to your skin and move the ultrasound probe across your skin with light pressure. The probe creates images which appear on our ultrasound screen.
Results
You will be given an initial result right after the examination. A more detailed report will be provided by the doctor or department that referred you. You can also view the results of the scan on www.sundhed.dk or www.minsundhedsplatform.dk
