Below you will find a brief guide to what to look out for when you have been treated for acute wounds. If you are in any doubt, you are always welcome to contact the staff.

Treatment of acute wounds

The bandage must not become wet or seeped through. If this happens, it must be changed, as otherwise there is an increased risk of infection.

☐ The bandage must remain untouched for 24 hours. You can shower after 1 day.

☐ The bandage must remain untouched for _______ days.

Seek medical attention

If you develop symptoms of infection, you should contact your general practitioner or dial 1813 to reach the medical helpline outside your general practitioner’s opening hours. These may include symptoms such as:

• Fever
• Throbbing, prolonged pain
• Redness or swelling around the wound
• Warmth and/or red streaks up the arms or legs.
